UPDATE on COVID Restrictions
From 29 June 2021
Dear Parents,

As per the Premier's media release this morning (28/06/2021 at 9am), restrictions in many Local Government Areas throughout Queensland, including Greater Brisbane will be in place for a period of two weeks from 1am, 29 June.

The Greater Brisbane region includes:

  • City of Brisbane
  • City of Ipswich
  • Logan City
  • Moreton Bay Region
  • Redland City

What does this mean for you, when attending our clinic?

Face masks - general

You must carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave home, unless you have a lawful reason not to.


Face masks - when attending our clinic

You are required to wear a mask: 

  • whilst waiting in the reception area;
  • when it is not possible to abide by social distancing in the therapy room.

Children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt.

Our therapists will abide by government and individual centre directives where off-site appointments have been scheduled. 
General precautions that remain in place

We continue to ask all clients attending the clinic to observe the following:
  • Stay home if you are sick;
  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested;
  • Hand washing for all clients before entry to our clinic;
  • Wear a face mask if directed by QLD Health when attending our clinic;
  • Wash hands or sanitise hands regularly;
  • Sneeze or cough into your arm or a tissue. Then put the tissue in the bin;
  • Maintain social distancing as best as possible. Stay 1.5 metres away from other people—think two big steps;
  • One additional person per client (attending an appointment) in the clinic at any one time.
We ask all clients to avoid the following whilst attending our clinic:
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, nail-biting and thumb-sucking.
  • Avoid shaking hands, hugging, kissing or touching other people.

NOTIFYING US OF A TEMPORARY CHANGE IN SERVICE DELIVERY:

Should you wish to temporarily change the delivery of your child's OT session in lieu of a clinic appointment, please advise in your appointment confirmation reply via SMS or email:
  • "Y Zoom" - for session to be Telehealth via Zoom; or
  • "Y Home Program" - for a home program to be completed and delivered via email.
*Please note the standard cancellation policies remain in place, so please be sure to respond to your appointment reminders (SMS or email), in the appropriate timeframe.

Changes to your in-clinic experience

We take the health of our families very seriously and are taking every precaution necessary to keep our staff and your family safe. 
 
To date, the following precautions have been put into place:
  1. To assist with maintaining good hygiene, we have removed all waiting room toys - we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Additionally, each therapy room is disinfected between every visit. As we are being very diligent about this, you may have to wait a few extra minutes before your session starts to allow time for the cleaning.
  2. All resources are sterilised after use.
  3. If, prior to your session starting, you prefer to wait in your car to avoid the office waiting room, please make our reception team aware and we will SMS you when your child's OT is ready for your session to start.
  4. The prize box has been suspended at the current time to avoid unnecessary handling by multiple people.
  5. If our therapists suspect a client attending their scheduled session is sick, the therapist will immediately send the client home as a precaution.

Social Distancing

To ensure that we are adhering to social distancing requirements, we ask that families please adhere to the following:
  1. 1 parent or carer to accompany child to their session.
  2. 1 parent or carer waiting in the reception area (this may include 1 sibling). Should multiple siblings be in attendance, we kindly ask that siblings remain in the car with you, go for a walk around the office park with you or you can attend the cafe. 
We thank all of you, our clients, for your understanding, patience and cooperation during these current restrictions and throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic. We remain committed to ensuring the highest level of safety to our staff and families, whilst continuing to provide the same high level of service.
