A nurturing space for girls in early primary school to build confidence in peer relationships

Our Girls’ Social Skills Group is designed to support children aged 5–7 years in developing essential peer interaction and social communication skills in a structured and supportive group setting.

Whether your child is working on joining in with peers, taking turns, or simply learning how to have a back-and-forth conversation, this group is the perfect next step for applying those skills in real-time with others.

Program Goals

  • Build confidence in group play – turn-taking, sharing, joining in with peers
  • Shift from solitary/parallel play to collaborative play
  • Support development of social communication – initiating play, asking for help, reciprocal conversation

What to Expect Each Session

  • Warm and welcoming introduction
  • Brief discussion on the session’s theme
  • A story (read aloud or short video)
  • Hands-on group activity to practice the skill
  • Take-home Social Story based on the session theme (digital or print format)

Why Group Work?

If your child has already been working on social goals during individual OT sessions, this group offers the next step in their development: applying those skills with peers in a controlled, supported, and real-world environment.
